The Song-Ba Empowerment Centre supports women and girls without formal education who work as head porters in urban cities, training them in various skills that pay them while they train. They also provide sustainable menstrual hygiene training and reusable sanitary pads to rural girls.
The Center has empowered and trained 10 girls in the weaving of smocks and sewing, with 45 currently in training. They have provided over 13,000 girls with Days for Girls Reusable Sanitary Pads, which are produced at the Centre.
The Centre empowers women and promotes entrepreneurship through microfinance schemes, benefiting 60 underprivileged women and young girls. The collaboration with organizations to provide free weaving and sewing machines enables women to become financially independent.
The Centre plans to expand by opening branches in all 16 regions of Ghana to provide more opportunities to women and young girls. Their commitment towards sustainable development is truly commendable.
