INTRODUCING BOARD MEMBER’S OF SONG-BA EMPOWERMENT CENTRE

Susanne Bellinghausen from Germany is the CEO and co-founder of r0g _agency for open culture & critical transformation gGmbH (https://openculture.agency/), a Berlin-based nonprofit that works with local organizations to support open knowledge, open technology, and peacebuilding efforts in the Global South.

She has a Degree in Architecture from the TU Berlin and a Masters of Interactive Telecommunication form the Tisch School of the Arts in NYC.

Susanne lived part of her childhood in Kenya and has worked with the GTZ on a city planning project in Addis during her studies in New York. After several years of experience in architectural practice in Berlin, New York and The Netherlands she co-founded r0g_ agency to better promote open source-related education, information, training and capacity building events, seminars and symposia in order to enable comprehensive and sustainable forms of communication.

She was the project manager for the ifa – zivik (German Federal Foreign Office – GFFO) funded #defyhatenow project (https://defyhatenow.org/) running form 2015-

2018 as an urgent community peacebuilding, training and conflict reconciliation project aiming to strengthen the voices and support the actions of peace & youth oriented civil society organizations in South Sudan, Uganda and Kenya. During the same time she was a research fellow at the Potsdam-based Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS).

Since she has been involved in developing the #MMN – Migrant Media Network and #defyhatenow Cameroon projects funded by the GFFO, the #KIFAYA – music for peace project, the Open Culture Feminist Cafe – a regular event focusing on feminism and gender equality and the yearly open: fora event to promote neighbourhood activism. She is the project manager for #MMN – the Migrant Media Network (https://migrantmedia.network/), which aims to provide reliable information on migration, raise awareness of safer migration.
