Adolescents’ sexual and reproductive health must be actively supported and prioritized as a critical component of their overall well-being and development. This involves ensuring access to comprehensive sexuality education that equips young people with accurate information, life skills, and the confidence to make informed decisions about their bodies and relationships.
Equally important is the provision of youth-friendly health services, including the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), as well as accessible and confidential counseling on family planning. These services must be delivered in a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental environment that encourages adolescents to seek the care they need without fear or stigma.

Beyond access to services, supporting adolescent health also means empowering young people with knowledge of their rights. This includes the right to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health, the right to delay marriage, and the right to refuse unwanted sexual advances. When adolescents are empowered in this way, they are better able to protect themselves, pursue their education, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Investing in adolescent sexual and reproductive health is not only a matter of public health—it is a commitment to building a healthier, more informed, and more equitable society.
